Our Client, Malta’s leading business and commercial services group, is expanding its Tax Department and is seeking an ambitious and driven Tax Executive to join its team of experienced professionals on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will support the Tax Department in delivering high-quality tax compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients, while developing strong client relationships and gaining valuable exposure to the Maltese and international tax environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of corporate tax documentation and tax compliance requirements for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Support senior team members in preparing personal tax returns and responding to client queries.
- Gather and analyse client information required for tax assessments and international tax matters, including Transfer Pricing.
- Assist with tax filings, administrative procedures, document management and ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information, internal reports and records in line with departmental procedures.
- Collaborate with the Tax Department on client service initiatives, process improvements and ad-hoc assignments.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a tax or accounting environment, preferably up to 2 years.
- Basic understanding of the Maltese tax system, with a strong willingness to develop technical tax knowledge.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with SAGE is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, while handling sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality.
Licenses & Qualifications
- University degree in Accountancy or a related field.
- Candidates currently pursuing ACCA, ACA or another relevant professional accountancy qualification are encouraged to apply.
- ACCA qualification or progress towards qualification will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of Maltese tax legislation and compliance requirements is desirable.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Maltese is considered an asset.
