Our Client, Malta’s leading company, is seeking a skilled and reliableGeneral Car Mechanicto join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a range of company vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and in excellent working condition.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on company vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Inspect vehicles to identify defects, wear, and potential issues and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance.
- Perform repairs and replacement of components including brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, engine, transmission, and other mechanical systems.
- Complete job cards, service records, and other relevant documentation to ensure accurate traceability of all work carried out.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop while following company procedures relating to health and safety, tools, equipment, waste disposal, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experienceas a Car Mechanic or in a similar automotive maintenance role.
- Solid knowledge of general vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
- Practical experience working on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Willingness and availability to work according to operational requirements, including shifts or roster-based schedules where required.
Licenses & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or vocational training inAutomotive Engineering, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, or a related field.
- Relevant recognised qualification or certification in motor vehicle mechanics is considered an asset.
- A validdriving licenceappropriate for the vehicles operated is an advantage.
- Valid experience and/or certification in vehicle diagnostics will be considered an asset.
