About The Role As a Project Manager (Card Issuing) you will take ownership of the card issuing business function, overseeing its day-to-day coordination and continuous development, with a focus on Visa and Mastercard requirements, new products, and payment functionalities. Key Responsibilities Visa & Mastercard Requirements Review and analyse Visa and Mastercard rules, requirements, mandates, and product documentation related to card issuing Identify new or updated payment scheme requirements and assess their impact on our issuing products and internal processes Translate complex scheme requirements into clear business, operational, and technical requirements for internal teams Implementation of Scheme Requirements Lead the implementation of Visa and Mastercard requirements across the company Work closely with Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, IT, and other relevant teams to ensure that required changes are implemented correctly and on time Oversee implementation progress, identify dependencies and risks, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding actions Visa & Mastercard Projects and New Products Lead the implementation of new Visa and Mastercard products, services, and functionality Participate in projects related to new card products, payment functionality, authentication, tokenisation, digital wallets, and other issuing-related services Manage the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, from requirements and planning through implementation, testing, certification, and launch Communicate directly with Visa and Mastercard regarding project requirements, documentation, implementation, and open questions Risk & Compliance Support Provide subject-matter expertise to Risk and Compliance teams on Visa and Mastercard requirements applicable to the issuing business Provide guidance on payment scheme rules and requirements and their impact on the business Assist with identifying potential scheme compliance risks and required actions Cooperation with the Core Banking Team Work closely with the Core Banking team on issuing-related projects and system changes Translate payment scheme and product requirements into clear and actionable requirements for Core Banking implementation Oversee testing and implementation of required changes Cooperation with the Processing Centre Maintain regular communication with the card processing centre regarding issuing products, scheme requirements, and technical changes Lead the implementation of new functionality, system enhancements, and issuing-related changes with the processor Define and clarify business requirements and ensure timely delivery by the processor Oversee testing, certification, troubleshooting, and production launch of new functionality What you need to succeed in this role Strong understanding of card issuing, payment schemes, and the broader payments ecosystem Hands-on experience with Visa and Mastercard rules, requirements, products, and certification processes Proven experience working and communicating directly with Visa, Mastercard, card processors, and other external partners Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously Ability to take ownership and drive initiatives end-to-end, from requirements analysis through implementation and launch Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex scheme requirements into clear and actionable business and technical requirements Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, IT, Core Banking, and external partners Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and potential issues early and drive them through to resolution Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with scheme rules, mandates, and compliance requirements Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility for outcomes Fluency in English, both written and spoken What we offer Opportunity to shape the future of fintech solutions within a growing company Collaborative, horizontal team structure that values your expertise and ideas Continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance your skills and career growth Competitive salary and benefits package * Employment will be offered by Mellifera Kartiera Limited, registration number C107685, legal address: Villa Malitah, Mediterranean Street, The Village, St. Julians, STJ 1870, Malta, which is part of the group of companies operating under the COLIBRIX ONE brand.
