The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance staff and activities, ensuring the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are kept in excellent working order, safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, coordinate, and allocate daily tasks to the maintenance team, including technicians, tilers, painters, and plant staff
Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for the hotel's building, equipment, and plant systems
Ensure prompt response to maintenance requests and breakdowns reported by other departments, prioritising work based on urgency and guest impact
Monitor the quality and progress of maintenance work, carrying out inspections and follow-ups as needed
Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations across all maintenance activities
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment servicing, and repairs carried out
Manage stock levels of maintenance materials, tools, and spare parts in coordination with the Stores team
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialised works, repairs, or servicing
Assist in planning and coordinating refurbishment or renovation projects
Train, mentor, and support the development of maintenance staff
Report regularly to the Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager on team performance, ongoing issues, and resource needs
Provide cover and be available for emergency call-outs as required
Requirements:
Proven experience in a maintenance role with prior supervisory or team-leading experience, ideally within a hotel, resort, or large commercial facility
Broad technical knowledge across multiple maintenance disciplines (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building works, etc.)
Relevant technical qualification is an asset
Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate a team under pressure
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and be available for emergency call-outs
Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
