Role Summary The Crypto Transaction Monitoring Analyst will monitor, investigate and analyse crypto-asset and fiat transactions to identify suspicious activity and support the Company's AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime controls. Working closely with AML, Compliance, Risk and Fraud teams, the role supports safe crypto-asset operations through effective alert review, investigation, escalation and regulatory reporting. Key Responsibilities Monitor crypto-asset and fiat transactions, reviewing alerts from transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics systems. Analyse wallet activity, blockchain transaction flows and customer behaviour to identify unusual, suspicious or potentially illicit activity. Investigate red flags linked to money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, mule accounts, ransomware, darknet marketplaces and other crypto-related typologies. Conduct investigations into suspicious customer activity, trace crypto-asset movement across wallets/entities, and prepare clear investigation reports and escalation recommendations. Draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and internal escalation reports, liaising with the MLRO and Compliance teams as required. Support CDD and EDD reviews for customers engaging in crypto-asset activities, including source of wealth, source of funds and expected activity assessments. Support the enhancement of crypto-specific AML/CFT controls, including customer risk assessments, typology reviews, alert calibration and monitoring rules. Collaborate with AML, Compliance, Fraud, Risk, Operations, Product and Technology teams, and assist with audits, inspections and compliance reviews. Other ad hoc duties as assigned by management from time to time. Experience & Knowledge 2-3 years' experience in AML, Financial Crime, Compliance, Fraud or Transaction Monitoring within crypto-assets, fintech, banking, payments or virtual assets. Demonstrable experience investigating crypto-asset transactions and identifying crypto-related financial crime risks. Experience using blockchain analytics or crypto transaction monitoring tools, and preparing investigation reports or suspicious activity escalations. Strong understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions, financial crime regulations, blockchain technology, crypto-assets, digital wallets and virtual asset ecosystems. Knowledge of crypto typologies including layering, mixing services/tumblers, mule accounts, sanctions evasion, ransomware and darknet activity. Understanding of CDD, EDD and transaction monitoring requirements applicable to crypto-asset services. Skills Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify unusual transaction patterns. Ability to analyse complex blockchain transaction flows and translate findings into clear, well-documented reports. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Mandatory Technical Experience Experience with blockchain analytics solutions such as Chainalysis, Sumsub, Elliptic, Crystal Blockchain or similar platforms. Experience monitoring both crypto-to-crypto and fiat-to-crypto transaction activity.
