The Role
The Junior Fintech Lawyer will assist in ensuring the organisation operates in full compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. The role supports the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in managing legal risk, monitoring regulatory changes, drafting and reviewing legal documentation, coordinating compliance activities, and promoting a culture of ethical conduct and governance across the organisation.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with a strong foundation in regulatory and compliance frameworks, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Support
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, policies, and legal documentation.
Provide legal research and assist in drafting legal opinions, memos, and briefing notes, especially in the fields of PSP/EMI/PSR/PSD3, MiCA/Crypto and AI.
Support the management of litigation, claims, and external counsel relationships.
Maintain the organisation’s legal register and ensure accurate documentation management.
Assist with corporate governance requirements, including board packs, resolutions, and statutory filings.
Compliance Management
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Support regulatory reporting obligations and ensure timely submissions to relevant authorities.
Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring and internal audits to assess risk and adherence to standards.
Participate in compliance risk assessments and support mitigation strategies.
Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
Training & Awareness
Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness programmes.
Support initiatives to strengthen ethical behaviour, data protection, and regulatory compliance culture.
Data Protection and DORA
Support compliance with data protection laws (including GDPR), privacy frameworks, and internal data governance policies and Digital Operations Resilience Act (DORA).
Assist with breach reporting, subject access requests, and record-keeping obligations where applicable.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) and a warrant;
2–4 years of relevant experience post-degree in a legal, compliance, or regulatory role (in-house or at a law firm).
Strong understanding of legal drafting, contract principles, regulatory obligations, and corporate governance.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk management principles, and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, DORA, AI and MiCA).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in regulated industries (finance, gaming, payments/EMI, Crypto)
Prior involvement in audits, risk assessments, or regulatory inspections.
