We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Executive to lead our procurement function and contribute to the continued growth of one of Malta's leading organizations.
The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for the processing, verification, and confirmation of clients’ orders, as well as the planning and coordination of the logistics required for the procurement and delivery of goods from the Company’s principal suppliers. The successful candidate will liaise closely with foreign and local suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth procurement operations, timely deliveries, and the maintenance of high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, service level monitoring, and relationship management.
- Oversee purchasing operations, ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to forecast purchasing requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and commercial arrangements with suppliers and service providers.
- Coordinate with logistics and freight partners to ensure efficient movement of goods.
- Maintain procurement records, reports, and supplier documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
- Lead and support the purchasing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related commercial role.
- Proven work experience in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration skills.
- Proven ability to analyze purchasing data and make commercially sound decisions.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems.
- Fluency in Maltese and English is required; knowledge of Italian will be considered an asset.
